The last day of the Peace On Earth Hunt and a lovely Room

T’was the month following Christmas, my true love said to me, undeck the halls, and put away the tree! The Peace On Earth Hunt has been amazing!!! Where has the time gone!!! Today is the last day of the hunt and there were over 200 gifts this year…such generosity! While I was out today, hunters were too, some asking if the gifts were still out where I was and of course they were! I wanted to do a final room with some of the POE6 furnishings to show how lovely they looked together. You do not have to limit yourself to having them out only at Christmas time! I was trying to tell a hunter this, and decided the best way was just to show! The POE designers are among the best in Second Life and made high quality gifts for us all to enjoy and most importantly, to use!

Look how well the room flows together..it has such an lovely warm eclectic look!  If you have no money in Second Life for things, to make you feel at home, just look at the designs within this room. There is still some time left before the end of the day to locate these awesome gifts!

I wish to thank you, Sequoia, for caring enough to have this phenomenal annual hunt each year! You work so hard to bring this to the residents of Second Life and make it look effortlessly! You have no idea how many people you actually help, with the Peace On Earth Hunt! Some people come to Second Life who do not have much in real life, and because of you and the fabulous designers, who give generously of their creations and time, allow people to have dignity and a amazing sense of style, with the beautiful clothes, accessories, furniture, homes, home decor, and so many things that have been part of the Peace On Earth Hunts throughout the years that you and they so unselfishly give! From the bottom of my heart I thank you!

Merry Christmas, this is the time to rejoice and share the bounty of life, however small it seems to us, with all our loved ones, close by and far away.

Today I feel merry and mischievious, so I am giving you the best impersonation of a Christmas elf….

I created 2 mix and match outfits in a very xmasy environment, all the items are from the fantastic POE6 gifts, have fun and, if you like, thank the designers who put a lot of thinking and attention into these amazing presents.

Woohoo look at me in the kitchen doing my combat version of Betty Crocker.  I have my pretty candy cane dishes set out courtesy of Melusina Parkin of Melu Deco at Paris AND this super duper cool real recipe providing recipe book and stand from Koterie Itoku from Frostleaf Studio.

I was trying to bond with Schmelf today a little put so I put on the petite shape from Mhaze Magic of Magic Avi Shapes.  They say you should try to get down to people’s levels and look them in the eye.  I am afraid to report there is no magic or anything with this shape.  I did have a bunny.  I have no idea where the bunny is now or how it got there.  It just no longer resides up my sleeve.

Jaraloy Swords of Aidoru put together this cool necklace for the holidays and Dani Plassitz of Styles by Danielle knitted this lovely red warm sweater to keep you both politically correctly coloured AND cozy for the winter nights ahead.  I paired it with just the pants from Shabby Chic.  Jordanna Hamaski actually has complete outfits for men or women in the desert camo motif.

Schmelf was feeling a bit fragile today.  He was afraid of my slippers. He thought they were too life like and because my feet made them move, he jumped every time.  He wanted to call Santa and tell him they would not be suitable pressies for little kids with fragile sensitivities like he did.

I caught him trying to flush my slippers down the toilet.

I am thinking about taking a jack hammer to his fragile sensitivities.

POE5 – Starhelm Trading Co., LIV-Glam, Melu Deco

A really good game to play at Christmas is “statues.”

It works because the adults can play and you can always get one of the kids to beg them. Just make sure that you get the kid to beg before they are wearing half their dinner on their face and while the crinolines are still crisp. For some reason wilted crinolines and gravy do not equal cuteness.
You can do the “pretend we are all little mice and be as quiet as quiet as can be” but chances are their parents have already played that one to death on the ride over Christmas morning.
Have everyone strike a pose and hold it. You can also call this game “playing Madonna” which might win over the hearts of some of the more trendier peeps. They are not to move or speak. Then you tell them there is a huge prize for the winner out in the garage and you leave them to it.

The prize is room to move and not be a statue … but don’t give that away until the end. I sometimes LET the kids win and declare it a 32 way tie and put all the kids out in the garage …that works too.

Oh just make sure to check on Grandma every now and then … sometimes it may look like they are playing Statue and they are really dead.
