The last day of the Peace On Earth Hunt and a lovely Room

T’was the month following Christmas, my true love said to me, undeck the halls, and put away the tree! The Peace On Earth Hunt has been amazing!!! Where has the time gone!!! Today is the last day of the hunt and there were over 200 gifts this year…such generosity! While I was out today, hunters were too, some asking if the gifts were still out where I was and of course they were! I wanted to do a final room with some of the POE6 furnishings to show how lovely they looked together. You do not have to limit yourself to having them out only at Christmas time! I was trying to tell a hunter this, and decided the best way was just to show! The POE designers are among the best in Second Life and made high quality gifts for us all to enjoy and most importantly, to use!

Look how well the room flows together..it has such an lovely warm eclectic look!  If you have no money in Second Life for things, to make you feel at home, just look at the designs within this room. There is still some time left before the end of the day to locate these awesome gifts!

I wish to thank you, Sequoia, for caring enough to have this phenomenal annual hunt each year! You work so hard to bring this to the residents of Second Life and make it look effortlessly! You have no idea how many people you actually help, with the Peace On Earth Hunt! Some people come to Second Life who do not have much in real life, and because of you and the fabulous designers, who give generously of their creations and time, allow people to have dignity and a amazing sense of style, with the beautiful clothes, accessories, furniture, homes, home decor, and so many things that have been part of the Peace On Earth Hunts throughout the years that you and they so unselfishly give! From the bottom of my heart I thank you!

POE6 ~ Dashing through the Hunt

Only 7 or so days remain in the POE6 Hunt.  Slurls for the items follow the photos.  But before we get to that, I just want to say it’s been a genuine honor and delight to be included as an official POE weblogger and to share even this very small sampling of the beautiful hunt finds.   Thank you to all the wonderful designers for creating such gorgeous pieces for this event.  And thank you, Sequoia, for creating the Peace on Earth Hunt 6 years ago now.  You run it so beautifully year over year — making not only a hunt, but SL’s largest grid-wide hunt yet, seem effortless every time when the reality is it simply must require a great deal of work and commitment.  POE is always an elegant, wonderful event, Sequoia…just like you.  Thank you.  And see you and everyone in this soon to be Happy New Year!

O have been Dressed by Lexi – Lexi Roxan.  Love the green.  Really feeling the green.  I am calm … notice how Christmas is red as in frenzied, heightened out of control emotions and then green calm and peaceful … am I the only one who sees this theme as being schizophrenic?  And clearly the parents and the kids particularly are on the red side and …. hmmm … who is on the green side?  Besides Silent Night who is calm???

Belle Roussel of Chop Zuey takes the green theme into the ethereal and adds blue and creates this lovely holiday jewellery set for your special dates or your favourite TV show, or even you favourite chips and dips and eggnog … any one of those would be worthy.

Khea Karas of Malt offers this gorgeous dinner ring which goes with everything because you know what … it is white and white is a beautiful colour and it goes with everything and is virginal and pure and does not drive people to madness or sleep.

Leandro Malaspina of LM Malaspina has created this stunning cabinet that makes you start talking proper English and typing with punctuation and capitals.  AH-mazing.  I told the Schmelf if I even think I see a tiny fingerprint on that cabinet he is gone … I don’t care what Santa or Sequoia says … some things are just off limits.

The magic of the Holiday Season is upon us and with it comes the magic of the 6th annual Peace on Earth Hunt.   POE6 is a grid-wide hunt that begins December 1st (tomorrow!) and runs through January 6, 2014.  Long-time friend and POE founder Sequoia Nightfire inspires more than 200 designers to contribute beautiful creations for POE6, which also happens to be the largest hunt event in SL.  As alway, the items are so lovely you won’t want to miss out.

Here’s the first of many free items that I’ll feature over the next few weeks.  This one is a partial mesh dress from Topazia.  I pair it with a Rockberry skin, also a POE hunt item.  So get ready and get your fingers on those slurls (below)…POE is set to begin in just a couple of short hours from now!  Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!

This year I was so happy and honored to be asked if I would like to be part of the POE6 hunt. The POE is one of the biggest hunts on the grid and I was so excited when Sequoia Nightfire, the founder of it asked me if I would like to contribute a hunt item as well.

I wanted to make something that goes with the theme of the Peace on Earth hunt as well as I wanted touch the christmas season a bit and so I came on the idea to make a group pose for angles  .  The “Angels” pose set contains 4 non released poses. They are single in that pack so you can use them for other purposes and smaller groups or for your own only as well. They are made with a smooth transition, so they are suitable for the runway as well.

POE5 Peace On Earth Gridwide Hunt concludes…

My very dear sl sister and friend, Mimmi Boa, is the featured model in the very last designer post from my event POE5. Here beautifully elegant Mimmi is showcasing the lovely skin gift from Blush Skins as photographed by the gifted Skip Staheli. This exquisite gift from Blush is a fine example of the many beautiful and fabulous gifts that were offered during the Peace On Earth hunt by nearly 200 of Second Life’s most generous and creative designers.

It seems fitting to end this year with a post featuring Mimmi because she graced the very first poster for the POE back in November of 2008, just a month before she would be crowned Miss Virtual World 2009, so is a nice way for me to bring these 5 years full circle. That is Mimmi, 4th from the left, representing Italy in the first photoshoot for Peace On Earth hunt.

A lot has changed about SL since those days and there are usually at least two dozen hunts a month now. POE has to compete with all sort of events for attention, but still we manage to rise to the occassion and all because of some extremely generous, talented, and caring people understand the importance of giving back to their community.

Thank you to all of you from sponsors to designers to blogers to hunters you all contribute to the special feelings of togetherness shared during this holiday season and this event and i wish you all many blessings into the New Year!
