The last day of the Peace On Earth Hunt and a lovely Room

T’was the month following Christmas, my true love said to me, undeck the halls, and put away the tree! The Peace On Earth Hunt has been amazing!!! Where has the time gone!!! Today is the last day of the hunt and there were over 200 gifts this year…such generosity! While I was out today, hunters were too, some asking if the gifts were still out where I was and of course they were! I wanted to do a final room with some of the POE6 furnishings to show how lovely they looked together. You do not have to limit yourself to having them out only at Christmas time! I was trying to tell a hunter this, and decided the best way was just to show! The POE designers are among the best in Second Life and made high quality gifts for us all to enjoy and most importantly, to use!

Look how well the room flows together..it has such an lovely warm eclectic look!  If you have no money in Second Life for things, to make you feel at home, just look at the designs within this room. There is still some time left before the end of the day to locate these awesome gifts!

I wish to thank you, Sequoia, for caring enough to have this phenomenal annual hunt each year! You work so hard to bring this to the residents of Second Life and make it look effortlessly! You have no idea how many people you actually help, with the Peace On Earth Hunt! Some people come to Second Life who do not have much in real life, and because of you and the fabulous designers, who give generously of their creations and time, allow people to have dignity and a amazing sense of style, with the beautiful clothes, accessories, furniture, homes, home decor, and so many things that have been part of the Peace On Earth Hunts throughout the years that you and they so unselfishly give! From the bottom of my heart I thank you!

SocElfky is sick.  He has some kind of rash – probably from too much egg nog.  I told him he should rest and I will mark myself today.  I have so many check marks, best day ever!!

I propped him up on some nice comfy pillows from Beloas Whitfield of Kusshon.  There were cuddling poses in there and I told him he could hug himself all day but he prefers hanging out on the tree that comes with the set.   I sang him a rousing chorus of “O Christmas Tree” and he threw up some more.  I don’t think Christmas is ever complete until someone throw’s up but I usually like to keep that restricted to the grand kids in the care with their parents on the way home.  It is kind of like revenge of the elderly and still somewhat bitter parents.

DeAnn Defaux of Park Place keeps us all toasty with her lovely fireplace with a poof fire that just clicks on and off (have to get one of those for real life) and all these nifty little additions so you get to decorate in your own style. Don’t eat the Poinsettia’s – they are poisonous and I think SocElfky may have eaten some in the salad I made him and may be the reason for the spots.  No idea how they got in there but stay tune for the crime station’s new series … “Where have all the Christmas Elves Gone?”  Evidently someone picked them … every one ….

Geryn Sloane of G Sloan creations designed this festive green tartan dress in case you wanna fling around the highlands in your mind and Atiya Masala of Addiction has these necklaces with Peace in the chain.

 For all you lovers of all things nail polish (I just wear it for the fumes) another series of nail huds with some really clever homage to various country flags from Giela Delpaso of Nailed It reminds us all that the world is more than just our little corner of the globe which is always a good message for Christmas. What is clever about this hud?  It comes with options.   It provides nails for every type, prim, SLink or mesh.  I love it when things include everyone.  That means you can play a party game of guess the flags and everyone gets a go.  YAY!ALSO .. remiss in mentioning IKON’s new eyes with huds …. go and get them!  Not POE Hunt but they belong under every SL Christmas tree.

Nile Karas of Flowerdreams dreamed up this very sexy gown for the holidays.  I think this is the kind of “bad” that even Santa cannot ignore.  Good things you can eat as many chocolates and Christmas pudding as you want in here and weight is still not an issue.

Moonstone Eiren of artMEfashion has provided a nail hud for your SLink Hands that has some really pretty choices.   caLLie cLine weighs in with this darling little tree in a bag and I adore Sequoia Nightfire’s of SequoiaStyle’s beautiful dressing screen.

Someone called to say that Schmelf had a “family emergency” and would be away a couple of days and I should expect his replacement any day.  Sequoia has no idea I am currently unattended and I thought there was no need to really tell her … I mean even little kids get at least one circle around the house hooting and hollering without their underwear before Grandma starts screaming that it “isn’t natural.”

And on Earth, Peace, Goodwill to All

It’s the season of giving, and once again some 200 of Second Life’s designers have come together to share a little love in the sixth Peace On Earth Hunt. I am honoured to have been invited to blog the hunt again this year, and I was delighted to accept, even though I am a little bit tied up at the moment with preparations for the Miss Virtual World Final next weekend. Hence my first POE6 post being a little late, apologies!

But better late than never I say, so I am delighted to be able to show you some of the great gifts you can find in the biggest seasonal hunt in SL! There’s not just clothing, hair, skins, jewellery and accessories, but lots of poses, home furnishings and decorations too, and all completely free!

• Gown from ~ghee~. It’s materials ready, so you will need a materials enabled viewer to see the gorgeous burnt out texture – but it’s also very pretty in plain white with a sparkling flexi add-on skirt if you don’t.

Hello m’dears 

A return to blogging for me after a bit of a break! We all need those sometimes.

The Peace on Earth Hunt, run by the redoubtable Sequoia, is the oldest and most popular hunt in Second Life. It runs from December 1, 2013 through January 6, 2014.  I’ve been a hunter in the last three, a designer in the last two and a blogger in this hunt, the sixth version.  Going to attempt to showcase the furniture and men’s clothing which I’m sure won’t fit into one post so this is part one.

I am loving the gifts in POE6, the designers have been very generous and produced work of an excellent standard. The furniture is amazing and you’ll be able to furnish your home with a lot of Christmas cheer!

A beautiful screen by SequoiaStyle LI 15, and when you ‘sit’ on the carpet the body is held in ‘dressing pose’ which is suitable for adjustments to apparel and jewelry – ingenious!  By the side is the Louis XVI Style Gilt-Bronze Mounted Mahogany Cabinet in the Manner of Adam Weisweiler, by Malaspina Productions (wing of Joyous Living Store). This ornate cabinet is only LI 2 and has pictures on all three facing sides.

Park Place – Home and Hearth Fireplace by DeAnn Dufaux. The fireplace and tools are separate so you can use those after the holiday season. There’s a mantle picture, three candles, a poinsettia and a garland with lights to add. All low prim for a very nice display! The fire animation can be clicked on and off.

Ishtari Design Concepts by Alyssa Warden, has given us this stylish mesh set entitled,  ‘Vintage Holiday’. Total LI 16 you get a lot of chic for your house! I really liked this set and appreciated the attention to detail. There’s a working radio which you can touch to choose the music.

True North Designs brings us a piano for LI 9  – wonderful! As is typical with a traditional player piano, one doesn’t actually need to sit down and play – it can play all by itself! However, there is a piano playing animation in the cushion on the stool, so anytime you want to sit down and show off your amazing ivory tickling skills, you can  Comes with 4 play modes and various tunes.  Thank you, Dellybean!

Zen Creations Tree Scene by Zhoie Zimermann – lots of parts to this set, with the cutest of animations. Touch the tree or the pillow pile and you’ll soon be relaxing and writing Christmas cards and  tying up presents!

Last but not least is a wondrous tree by caLLie cLine.  She calls it the caLLiefornia grown peace tree. The dove has subtle animated sparkles and you can remove him or her to use in your home all year round as a symbol of peace. The stylish white bag can also be used elsewhere.

Yet with amazing wonderment we all enjoy this zigzag.

And each one so proud to be among this holiday zoo

I for one, can tell you Old St. Nick has nothing

Like we all sure do!

Time to run around the entire grid and have fun with the amazing gifts prepared by so many talented designers! It is a great pleasure for me this year to show you as many items as possible, so that you can have an orientation while you seek the sweet globes of peace.

Today I start with the founder and owner of POE: SEQUOIA NIGHTFIRE, her winter screen and rug are the perfect backdrop for this first post, where I model the dress Peace Bird by SONATTA MORALES, a great knee length dress in black crushed velvet, with matching feather hat. The outfit is completed by Lindy Vintage black pumps, the jewels are from STARS Christmas Peace set necklace and earrings.
