SocElfky behaves rather well when there is a cat in the room.  I told him there was not that much difference between a mouse and a monkey … for example they both start with “M.”  Ah-mazing how intelligent things sound when everyone has had enough egg nog.

Xenobia Foxclaw of Xen’s Hats added something for men or women but I like to break rules and wear the men’s stuff.  These are definite keepers for me.

The three outfits shown here come from 3 talented participants in this years POE hunt.  Melusina Parkin of MEB provide the set complete with a killer white leather jacket – very chic!  Charles2 McCaw of New York Couture does this jazzy pant suit that can be adapted for male or female, and Diaphoni Galicia of DG Designs puts her effort into a powder bluecoat, trimmed with fur and cute cute cute leggings and boots to match.

Geeb Snowpaw of Timeless Vintage Couture shares his white shoes for the hunt. I liked them with the outfits here, although they are perfect for your vintage pieces.

SocElfky said I should tell all of you that he hears everything and that people going around not being nice to one another are being reported to Santa.  His advice …. “Use your words.   The way we fix problems is to go to the person directly instead of discussing it with innocent bystanders.  Most times things can be resolved.  It could simply be a misunderstanding or an innocent mistake. Complaining does not fix things, it just makes everyone else either miserable or upset too and it says way more about you than it does about the person you are complaining about.”

And then he got drunk again.

I think I will cross stitch that on his butt when he falls asleep.

Give Me The Fairy Tale

As a little girl I believed quite strongly in fairy tales.  I clung to the Disney movies we all watched as children and secretly (Although my mom says it wasn’t so secret) dreamed that I would some day meet my own Prince.  Back then the fairy tales presented women as almost helpless characters constantly in need of rescue.  As I grew older, I was pleased to see those roles take a turn to show the women not as weak individuals, but women of strength and know how, and most of all courage.   I still believe in fairy tales, just not as much as I once did.  I refuse to grow up or grow old gracefully.  And yes, I believe too, that one day my prince will come.  I’m sure you’re saying to yourself right now “What the heck does this have to do with anything, Saz” but I promise, the pieces will fit soon.

All over the world there are children right now who’s parents are going through hardships.  Little boys and girls who still believe in fairy tales, who believe in the knight in shining armor coming to save the day or… being the prince themselves.  Children who will have little to no Christmas because their parents can’t afford it.  And we can make a difference.  There are so many organizations world wide that help with Christmas for needy families.
 Toys for Tots, Make a Wish, Angel Tree, just to name a few.  So please, while you’re out shopping and running around like crazy planning for your own family and friends, take a moment to help a needy child.  Give them the hope that fairy tales can come true.
 

 
The Peace On Earth Hunt is still going strong and the designers have really gone out of their way to offer us gifts for the holidays that just make me smile.  Their generosity has been outstanding and it just keeps getting better.  The gown I’m wearing in the picture can be found at stop # 156, Ever An Angel.  The Siochain Gown is a simple yet beautifully textured and crafted gown adorned with snow flakes and lace trim around the neck and wrists.  When I first saw the gown, I just knew it was going to be wonderful.  They’ve even included the makeups I’m wearing.

SocElfky is sick.  He has some kind of rash – probably from too much egg nog.  I told him he should rest and I will mark myself today.  I have so many check marks, best day ever!!

I propped him up on some nice comfy pillows from Beloas Whitfield of Kusshon.  There were cuddling poses in there and I told him he could hug himself all day but he prefers hanging out on the tree that comes with the set.   I sang him a rousing chorus of “O Christmas Tree” and he threw up some more.  I don’t think Christmas is ever complete until someone throw’s up but I usually like to keep that restricted to the grand kids in the care with their parents on the way home.  It is kind of like revenge of the elderly and still somewhat bitter parents.

DeAnn Defaux of Park Place keeps us all toasty with her lovely fireplace with a poof fire that just clicks on and off (have to get one of those for real life) and all these nifty little additions so you get to decorate in your own style. Don’t eat the Poinsettia’s – they are poisonous and I think SocElfky may have eaten some in the salad I made him and may be the reason for the spots.  No idea how they got in there but stay tune for the crime station’s new series … “Where have all the Christmas Elves Gone?”  Evidently someone picked them … every one ….

Geryn Sloane of G Sloan creations designed this festive green tartan dress in case you wanna fling around the highlands in your mind and Atiya Masala of Addiction has these necklaces with Peace in the chain.

 For all you lovers of all things nail polish (I just wear it for the fumes) another series of nail huds with some really clever homage to various country flags from Giela Delpaso of Nailed It reminds us all that the world is more than just our little corner of the globe which is always a good message for Christmas. What is clever about this hud?  It comes with options.   It provides nails for every type, prim, SLink or mesh.  I love it when things include everyone.  That means you can play a party game of guess the flags and everyone gets a go.  YAY!ALSO .. remiss in mentioning IKON’s new eyes with huds …. go and get them!  Not POE Hunt but they belong under every SL Christmas tree.

The SocElfky wanted a puppy.  Have you ever tried to say “no” to a Sock Monkey?  Well then times that by 5000 for one that thinks he is an elf and that he is the boss of everybody.  I have never heard a tantrum thrown quite like that in my whole life.  We weren’t even in a pet store.  The poor little kid just handed over his puppy because he just needed the insanity to stop.

 

 

This lovely yellow party dress is by Journey McLaglen from Prism and the shoes from Fizz Savira of Tonic match it perfectly.  I really like the textures in the dress and yellow is an unexpected bit of colour for the holidays.  JoJo Lowe of Timeless Designs has gifted everyone with a delicate jewellery set in softer tones.

 

I love the whimsy of a big cup of hot chocolate with candy canes and a wee panda bear hanging off the side of the cup – done by LoveFactory Violet of Love Factory.

 

The rocking chair is by Kira Spaatz of Geniwian and the wreath and candle which come in different sizes, is made by Clowey Greenwood of Cat and Dragon.

 
The Sock Monkey is nowhere near as loveable as an elf is.  I think it sucks I got stuck with one.  It brings back all my childhood nightmares and the sock monkeys that people made for us kids.  Those things just sit there and leer at you.  I am pretty sure that is the same leer that most axe murderers use and it is not festive at all.  And now my sock monkey has a “horse.”

Just saying I am feeling kind of bitter that axe murdering sock monkeys matter more than some little kid crying herself to sleep because there was no pony under the tree.

Leri Miles of Leri Miles Designs has created this very special earth inspired gown for POE6.  The green in the belt matched perfectly with Soraya Vaher’s of Violators holly inspired Jewellery set.

Rowan Attis of Piddler’s Perch joins POE once again and does not disappoint with his rustic table and chair set that will remind you of grandma’s house and all the goodies she would have waiting at Christmas time. . . .unless she was my grandmother in which case you remember the table because it provided a safe place to hide under when she would bring out the plates of her baking wonders … like “liver marshmallow surprise.”

Fanny Panacek of Domus shares her Joy to the World with this cute little hand stitched Christmas tree and SocElfky wanted me to point out that he is in his Christmas Jammies and that he thinks he could be a fashionista too.  I smiled and nodded a lot because frankly … Sock Monkey’s scare the hell out of me.

Joyus Sohl of Joyus Living allows us all to be angels for this Christmas as we put on our shimmering rainbow coloured wings and sit and play the harp.  I just am so sad that Schmelffy was not around to see me in my angelic splendour.  I mean the SocElfky is ok but it is just not the same.  He tries hard but mostly he just drinks a lot.

Malicia Python of Silken Moon provides a couple of really different make-ups, this is just one showing here but it adds to the angelic effort along with the Warm Clarity of Ghee and her must have white angel netted gown.

 

Just make sure you don’t leave the drunk SocElfky to spin on the stool with the harp.  Deck the Halls takes on a whole new meaning when the sock monkey is throwing up when he should be “fa la laaing.”

Nile Karas of Flowerdreams dreamed up this very sexy gown for the holidays.  I think this is the kind of “bad” that even Santa cannot ignore.  Good things you can eat as many chocolates and Christmas pudding as you want in here and weight is still not an issue.

Moonstone Eiren of artMEfashion has provided a nail hud for your SLink Hands that has some really pretty choices.   caLLie cLine weighs in with this darling little tree in a bag and I adore Sequoia Nightfire’s of SequoiaStyle’s beautiful dressing screen.

Someone called to say that Schmelf had a “family emergency” and would be away a couple of days and I should expect his replacement any day.  Sequoia has no idea I am currently unattended and I thought there was no need to really tell her … I mean even little kids get at least one circle around the house hooting and hollering without their underwear before Grandma starts screaming that it “isn’t natural.”

POE6 ~ on the bright side

I will probably photograph this dress again relatively soon.  Here’s why.  It’s really cute.  I mean really.  And I struggled with the composition — as I often do — particularly because of the colorfulness in the background.  But I love this location.  It’s the Oubliette sim.  If you haven’t been there you should visit and if you have already, you should visit again and often.  It’s such a gorgeous sim.

Even though my photo skills don’t do this dress justice, trust me that this little LivGlam dress — another POE6 hunt  find — reflects the same level of gorgeousness found in the Oubliette sim.  And the bonus is that this dress comes complete with a HUD to change the skirt and sleeve cuffs into three different colorways.  I show it with two other POE6 items:  a lovely necklace from Kunglers and the lovely and ever-present stockings from Miamai (I find I live in them these days).

If you’re doing the POE6 hunt, you already know it holds many wonderful creations.  If you’re not on the hunt, you should be.  Even though it’s a busy time of year, you’ll want in on these beautiful creations.  And who could blame you.  Not me.  In fact…I called for the taxis:

Tosy Xue of WTG has gifted us all with the most gorgeous gold jewellery set complete with nails.  AND easy nails.  Love easy to fit nails that you just put on and go.  AND unlike real life nails that hurt like heck when you have to rip them off, these ones are painless.

Giz Seorn of Gizza Creations offers this flirty little cocktail dress that sparkles as you twirl and everyone should twirl as much as possible at Christmas time.  I taped Schmelf onto the mixer and let ‘er rip and he “twirled” a lot.  He also threw up a lot.  I tried throwing some sparkle to cheer him up … make a note … throwing up may be the one thing NOT made better by sparkles.

Bambi Chicque of BamPu Creations did all the rest of the cool things you see in this picture.  I love the turquoise in the Christmas decorations and the whimsy of her picture.  The Gold fish is a bonus for joining the group.

I don’t think Schmelfy likes me very much.  I heard him on the phone with his Elf rep complaining that he needed some time off or he might just tank it completely.  I think I am going to be assigned a substitute elf for awhile.    He said he think I might be “beyond redemption.”  I think that is the same term my kindergarten teacher used.  Amazing how perceptive some people are huh?
